Outlander Season 2 Review

Hey People,

Long time no hear from. Shows have been ending and I haven't gotten around to watching them yet. Some I have and just haven't finished the last episode. What can I say? I'm trying really hard not to have them end on me. However, Outlander is the exception. If that's a good thing or a bad thing, you'll find out in this review.

I told you from the beginning that most people probably won't like this season because of it being so political and I turned out to be one of those people. I hated France, which is surprising to me because out of Europe France is my favorite. The only thing I liked about Claire and Jamie being in France is the fact that they spoke french. That's about it. But once they went back to Scotland, the show definitely improved; however, because of the war happening and the bonny prince being a total idiot, things kept getting worse for our 2 heroes. Never mind, I take that back. There were 2 things that were good about France--people speaking French and Fergus. Loved that kid. Wouldn't it be interesting if Fergus all grown up and Bree were to meet. Just putting it out there.

Hey People,

It's been awhile since I've had a Saturday lineup, but hey I kind of think Saturdays have the best shows, but that's just my opinion.

S4 E1 & E2

Banshee is back for its final season. Now remember folks, this season will only have 8 episodes, which is just disheartening since tonight we'll be almost half way there. But let me backtrack a bit since I missed recapping the premiere.

E1
They still haven't found Job yet. Nooooooo! Who's going to be my comic relief this season? And hot Rebecca is dead. Again, nooooooo! It's been 2 years since season 3's finale and a lot has changed. Hood looks like Jesus and gave up on finding Job. Carrie lost the right to raise her kids and is now a vigilante. Proctor is the mayor. I questioned who the hell voted for him, but when you run unopposed how could he not win. Smh. Sugar is probably the only consistent character that has not changed. Brock, of course, became the new sheriff at an awesome new sheriff department. Bunker is still there as a deputy. Now the funny thing about Bunker is he has the most interesting story right now to me. He's banging his brother's wife. It doesn't get any better than that. Now it still looks like the brothers are going to go to war with each other as I predicted in last year's finale, but with this going down it will only escalate everything.

So the big mystery this season will be who killed Rebecca. Proctor thinks it's one of his enemies, but I think it's his right hand man. Clay. Man has always been crazy, controlled, but crazy.

Job is alive! I mean, Job is barely alive! Whoever is torturing Job will feel my wrath. I was worried that he was actually dead because I didn't see Hoon Lee's name in the title sequence. Now we only have to get the group to believe that he's still alive.

Proctor has some major issues. He killed his niece's ex just because he was screwing her. Still think Clay is the one that killed Rebecca. I don't like the fact that Proctor has more power now. When is this dude going to die? At least he's going to have problems with the Brotherhood very soon. I can't wait for his demise.

Carrie is a real vigilante and Bunker gives her the cases to work. They could have a show just based on this. Spinoff! That's all I'm saying.

S2 E1

I swear when I watch this show, I forget everything exists other than this show. Now I try to stay away from spoilers about this show as much as possible so it's hard for me to read the comment section because there's always someone who wants to spoil it for you. At least do me the courtesy of putting spoiler that's all I ask.

Tobias needs an Emmy and a Golden Globe for both of his roles as Black Jack and Frank. He can make you hate him so much as Black Jack, while being sympathizing for him as Frank. And man did I feel bad for Frank.

First of all, when this show opened I was like how the hell did she get back to her time? Why the hell is she back in her time? I thought she went to France, But I guess we won't find out how she ended up there until the end of the season. Something tells me Jamie pushed her to go because of the war. But anyway, Claire is back in her time and she's not alone. She's pregnant and Frank wasn't all too happy about his wife carrying another man's baby. Can you blame him? But he decides to accept the child as his, even after hearing everything that happened to Claire. Her falling in love with another man didn't faze him. Well it did, but he was willing to look beyond that. They decide to make a deal. Frank only wanted 2 things: they raise the child as his child and that Claire let's go of Jamie. Now these are reasonable conditions, but we all know that they are very hard ones. However, Claire agrees not because they're reasonable, but because Jamie told her to let go, which makes me believe that Claire coming back was planned.

Frank and Claire planned to leave Scotland and go to the States and that's when we're hit with a flashback. And yes this is a flashback. I read a comment from someone who thought she traveled back in time, which would make no sense at that moment, but whatever. I hear that this whole season will be this one very long flashback, which is fine by me.

Claire and Jamie are in France. Parlez en francais tout le temp. It's crazy, but I like hearing France. In America you would hear Spanish a lot so I'm glad there's some shows that feature French. Anyway, Claire and Jamie are trying to rewrite history by stopping the uprise of the Jacobites. I hear this book the season is based on was very political so some thought this episode was boring, but I found it intriguing and if you didn't like this episode something tells me you're not going to like this entire season because of it being political. Think of it this way. It's like Game of Thrones wait it out until you get an action scene.

Claire has already made an enemy in France because she diagnosed 2 men of having smallpox, which meant the whole shipment had to be burned, which cost that guy a pretty penny. That's our Claire.

Let us not forget Mutter who is just going along for the ride at this moment. He's a great wing man.

P.S. Love how they changed the opening song and added a bit of french in.

Power Season 2 Finale Review

Hey People,

So all's well that ends well, sort of. The season finale wasn't anything special, but it does set things up for the next season. For our 2 love birds, they do get back together and I'm glad the show didn't dwell on them being apart because we all know they would eventually, so I'm glad the show didn't waste time on getting them together. Too bad they both have people coming after them. Lobos is coming after Ghost and Greg is coming after Angela. I doubt Tommy is going to kill Jamie, but I don't think he's smart enough to outwit Lobos. Maybe he'll go to Jamie or Tasha for help. As for Angela, Greg won't stop until she loses everything, but I'm pretty sure Jamie won't let that happen.

Hey People,

S2 E9

Goodbye Shawn, I knew you and I liked you I just didn't like you and Tasha so you had to die. Actually, I thought he was going to run away like Ghost told him to and not take Tasha with him, but when he texted her I said "Fine, take the bitch with you." But then he did something stupid. He went back to Kanan to return the gun and say he couldn't pull the trigger. That was just dumb and for that he deserves to die. Too harsh? Okay, he didn't deserve to die, but he definitely doesn't deserve tears. Not even one droplet. I can no longer dream of Lashawn #disappointment

I knew something was going to happen to Shawn when he texted Tasha. There was no way Tasha was leaving city and be never heard from again. I described the death scene as sad and disturbing because any death is sad really and the fact that Kanan killed his own son was just morbid.

In other news, Tommy got out of jail on account of the sketch not being admissible. Angela lost this round to Ghost. I wish I kept count to see who was up. I'm pretty sure it's Ghost just because he's been playing Angela since the beginning of the season. Now Angela is pissed as hell that Ghost helped Tommy get off. She really can't be mad though because they both have used each other. Ghost thinks that they can be together now, but what he doesn't know is Angela doesn't like losing. They finally say the forbidden word that couldn't be spoken in their presence--Ghost. Their love affair is over, but I'm wondering how long this is going to last because there is only 1 episode left (season finale tonight!) and I like it better when it's them against the world, but right now it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. Next season can very much be Angela vs. Jamie.

As for the season finale tonight, let's just say it does end on a sort of happy note, but someone has to choose between their girl and their best friend. And of course, someone is going to die. That's what happens when you play the game.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

S2 E8

Well that was an exciting hour of television. Finally the moment has arrived. Jamie and Angela, both know the truth now. So where do we go from here? Tommy is in jail, Lobos is finally caught, and Ghost's dealers have turned against him. I'm looking forward to see what happens after the "climax". Let's not forget that Tommy knows everything about Angela and Jamie, but there is no way he would give up Jamie, right?

Even though everything is out in the open between Jamie and Angela, there is still other forces other than lies that will get in their way. Shawn knows the truth about Jamie sending Kanan to jail and has volunteered to kill Jamie. But he's not the only one who wanted to kill Ghost. Lobos was also planning to kill Jamie and even set the room Dexter style as a nice setting for his dead body. Angela definitely saved Jamie from his death, so now I wonder who can James run to. He can't go to Lobos, Tommy, or Kanan. Tasha doesn't want his ass either now that she's with Shawn. I think the only person he can run to and wants to run to is Angela, even if she did set him up. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Lucky for you, I have already watched the new episode tonight and I can tell you that a major character will die tonight. It's kind of sad and disturbing at the same time. As for Angela and Jamie, let's just say they're both on denial when it comes to their 5 stages of grief, but by the end of the episode Angela is straight up on anger.

Hey People,

S2 E7

For a second there, I thought Angela would get duped again, but she pulled one over on Jamie. It seems like when it comes to mind games Angela wins. This is such an interesting relationship to me because I've never seen on TV, a relationship not built on trust, but solely on love. Neither of them trust each other, but they still love each other anyway.

Angela finally finds Holly after Jamie tells her the new name he gave her. When Angela encounters Holly, Holly tells her a lie about how she wanted to protect Tommy by stating Jamie was Ghost. Jamie already was in contact with Holly and told her to lie to Angela about who he really is. Angela vows to keep going after Tommy to get Lobos. Now that Jamie knows Ghost isn't who she's really after, will he be more willing to help her and come out with the truth?

Tasha wants a divorce from Jamie. The problem is she signed a prenup and if she initiates the divorce she'll lose everything (that's a really nice clause to have in a prenup, just saying), so the divorce attorney tells her to stay married and live separate lives, which is basically what they're doing now. Tasha and Shawn are getting hot, even though I'm not into them. Jamie figures out Shawn is hiding things from him and assumes it's because of Kanan.

Tommy is paranoid and has every reason to be since Angela is on his ass and I'm wondering if this is the end of Tommy and Holly. Will we see Holly again? Now that Angela copied Jamie's phone, she has to find out the truth now, right? None of it is admissible in court since she doesn't have a warrant, but the look on her face will be worth it. Even better, the look on Jamie's face when he finds out she knows everything will be priceless.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

S2 E6

This season is shaping up to be better than the 1st season. As I stated last time, I love how Angela has the upper hand now and even though she does, she still can't stop loving James and James can't stop loving her as Tasha pointed out. Tasha, by the way, was on point with her assessment of the situation. She totally was the girl he settled for, but at least now she can finally be okay with sleeping with Shawn, which I'm still not okay with personally. However, Tasha did give the go ahead for James to continue to sleep with Angela to ensure the protection of James and herself, but I'm pretty sure he would have continued to do that regardless of Tasha giving the OK sign.

Angela asked Holly to look for evidence that would incriminate James, but nothing pans out. This is the first time that I actually liked Holly in the whole series. Most of the time I'm always wishing she was dead, but this time I actually did want her to stay for Tommy's sake, but when I watched that ending, I clearly changed my mind. Holly came clean about her working with the feds to clear Tommy's name as Ghost and when Tommy got upset, she told him to choose between her and Ghost. Good thing Tommy was handcuffed because I'm pretty sure he would have killed Holly right then and there. Now Holly has become the most interesting character to me. I don't know what her next move will be. Ghost wants her gone and Tommy chose Ghost, so the only thing I can think of is her either taking the money and ticket Ghost gave her and escaping on her own or she fights back and teams up with Angela to take Tommy and Ghost down. The only thing is I don't think the latter would work too well since she's no longer in Tommy's good graces.

Can't believe Greg hasn't confronted Angela yet. From his point of view, it looks like she works for Ghost and crew. At least, he knows Angela is lying to him.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

S2 E5

My how the game has changed and I say for the better if you ask me. It's about time Angela knows the truth and has one over James. I was just patiently waiting for the moment when Holly would recognize her. The writer teased a bit with the whole "let me go in there to interrogate her," but the bathroom scene was a totally worth the wait. The only thing I had a problem with is why Angela didn't tell her boss that Holly wasn't a wanted woman anymore. She had no reason not to tell. I mean, it was great that she used the info as a way to get Holly on her side in the end, but I just don't get why Angela didn't tell her boss right after she found out herself. But I don't really care because of the outcome.

So what does this mean now? Will Angela comfort James about it once Holly gives her proof? I doubt it. I think there was some foreshadowing here when Angela told her boss that Holly would do anything for the man she loves and I think Angela would do the same for James. She will probably comes to grip with the fact that she still loves James and will protect him in the end. My guess is by the end of the season, both of them will know the other one knows. It might even happen sooner.

James is still kicked out of the house. His son went to go see him and lied to his mother about it. When the boy came back home, Tasha asked why did he go see his father. Does the boy need a reason to see his father? He's his father that should be a good enough reason right there. Tasha is being really unreasonable. She even kicked out Tommy, who didn't want to get in the middle of his 2 best friends and the one who told James to quit cheating on her in the first place. Tasha needs to get a hold of herself.

Speaking of Tommy, he actually used his brain for once and tricked the Russians into using their supply line. The student is finally learning.

So what didn't we cover? Oh Greg, boy knows now that something is going on with James and Angela and I'm pretty sure in tonight's episode she'll spin it to make it seem like she's working him.

P.S. I loved how Angela broke down in the bathroom after finding out James is Ghost and then coming out of the bathroom like nothing had changed. Now that's a strong woman!

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

Okay so it's been awhile since I wrote a post and it's been 2 weeks since we had one from Power and that's because Power wasn't new last week, but it will be tonight. Sadly, I didn't get to see tonight's episode; however, we can do what we always do and recap the last episode.

S2 E4

Jamie got kicked out of the house because Tasha found out he was still seeing Angela. This man has a lot to be worried about. His marriage is in the crapper, he still doesn't have his club back, he can't move the drug money fast enough, and he just figured out Kanan was behind the hit on him. At least he's close to buying back his club, but I bet tonight something will damper his prospect.

Angela is back on the team at work and now the team knows about Jamie. We'll probably see them talk to Jamie tonight like they did with Holly last time. Holly is all kinds of trouble and woman can talk. Jamie tried to pay her off to go away, but she didn't go away fast enough. I doubt she would have broken up with Tommy anyway. Now that the FEDs are on her, she ain't going nowhere.

Tasha finally admitted her feelings for Shawn and although I'm not a huge fan of those 2, at least it's finally out there and the Tasha mind tricks can end. I hate how Shawn used LaKeisha though that wasn't cool, but Keisha isn't stupid so she knew Shawn still had feelings for Tasha, so I'm not too mad at him. I'm just glad there wasn't a fight between Keisha and Tasha over him and they remained friends even after LaKeisha admitted sleeping with Shawn. I hope ShaKeisha isn't over just yet. I have faith.

Not much happened with Tommy other than him buying a puppy for Holly and the show showing us he's really controlling and jealous in a relationship. Also, he's way too trusting of Kanan. Jamie gave Kanan some corners to work and Kanan is going to use this opportunity to get control of his empire again. Do remember what he did to that guy just because he didn't like him? Brutal!

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

S2 E3

Before last week, I wasn't feeling the 2nd season so much, but after watching last week's episode and tonight's episode, I have full confidence in saying that this season will be just as good as last season.

Jamie and Angela make it to Miami and as you know, I didn't know if Jamie was being genuine anymore with his feelings. However, when Jamie became jealous of Greg, Angela's ex, that made me know for sure that he still has feelings for Angela.

While Angela and Jamie were acting like a couple, Jamie was also scoping for the girl with the pink sneakers. He was also down in Miami to do some work for the club. Damn can this man multi-task. Anyway, Jamie gets his club business done and vows that he'll get his club business back. His legit business went well with a little help from Angela, but his illegit business went down the drain. Kanan sent out a hit on the girl. Jamie asked her who hired her to kill him, but all she kept saying was you dumb motherfucker. Girl, you're dying at least answer the damn question. It took her more breaths to say those words than to just say the word Kanan. Ugh! At least she told him that Rolla wasn't behind it. Now Jamie knows the threat is still gunning for him.

Angela brought her work to vacation too. In the end, she reveals to Jamie what's the title of her job and how she's working a case and is going after Tommy. Angela confessing this just puts herself at risk. I'm worried that Jamie might go tell Tommy everything.

As for what's happening in New York, Shawn grew a pair and started denying Tasha. I was loving it. I didn't know Tasha would be so jealous, but I didn't care because I thought LaKeisha and Shawn would be cute together. I just always hated how Tasha was a schizo to him. One minute trying to lure him and the next acting like nothing was ever between him. Yes people, I'm for LaKeisha and Shawn and I shall dub them ShaKeisha.

For tonight's episode, let's just say there's a huge reveal about why Kanan is going after Jamie. And here I thought he just wanted his boss title back. If you want a little more I will say this: You'll find out if Jamie will keep his mouth shut to Tommy and if there's any life to ShaKeisha.

P.P.S. I love how last week's episode ended with Jamie and Angela being driven in the same direction in two different cars side-by-side. Speaks volumes if you ask me.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

Long time no see.

S2 E2

I am not liking what is happening with my favorite couple. Jamie isn't trusting Angela and Angela is checking up on Jamie's background.

Jamie lost his club to Stern and can I say, I am really surprised that Jamie didn't own the place and was actually renting. The money he was making, he should have had enough to buy the landlord. It's odd because Jamie is such a planner and this is something he should have thought about before. Anyway, Stern is now Jamie's landlord and he made deal with Jamie that if he reaches 20% in profit Stern will give him a number for Jamie to buy him out. However, Stern put Josh in charge so he wouldn't ever reach that number and in return Josh keeps Truth. Stern just wants to learn Jamie's tricks to the business. What a douche.

Angela flipped Ruiz's daughter, which is illegal since she's underage, and got her to finish the sketch. Tommy came up as a possible match and Angela figured out ex-boyfriend's password so she could listen for Tommy's voice. Ding-ding-ding, we have a match.

Kanon revealed himself to Jamie and people. I thought Jamie knew Kanon ordered the hit on him, but I guess I was wrong. Jamie is just suspicious that Rolla didn't do it and Kanon is trying to cover his tracks.

Jamie and Tommy are having drug problems. They can't move the stuff fast enough and gangs don't want to play nice with each other. Tommy also has to deal with Holly and her annoying ass. Ugh, why couldn't she just die?

But of all this doesn't matter because Jamie and Angela are going to Miami together and I have to say that the next episode is the best of the season so far. Jamie and Angela's relationship has always been the driving force of the show and I'm glad that tonight's episode is dedicated to them. Miami was definitely needed, but I will say Jamie has a huge decision to make by the end.

Hey People,

S2 E1

The tide has changed. James now knows Angela's day job and it seems like he'll play along for now even though there's nothing to play since Angela isn't using him. Something tells me that he'll still love her anyway. Angela is trying to use the pervert's girlfriend to get info on who Ghost is since she's no longer on the case anymore ever since the pervert died. If she finds something big, she may be able to get back in the case.

Tommy was hiding at his mother's house, but since he found out about Holly being shot, he's been at her side. I was really hoping she died in the finale. I have bad luck. As for Tasha she's still scheming for money behind Ghost's back.

With tonight's episode, let's just say James isn't the only one that finds out something new. However, I am not liking how this is unfolding. I don't like James knowing about Angela. I can't tell if he's being genuine anymore.

Power Review

Hey People,

I put my games aside and started down my endless TV show binge again. Power was returned yesterday and since I have a lot of love for Starz and I no longer have Outlander on Saturdays since it's on hiatus (I heard until 2016, please no!) I thought why not give it a try. If I don't like it, I move onto the next like I usually do. I have to be honest with you and say I came in skeptical because 50 Cent is an executive producer, but I always give things a try just so I'm not that person on the internet who bashes things without giving it a go at least once. I played the 1st episode yesterday and the next thing you know it was night and I was playing the 8th. I seriously wished there were more episodes. What is with Starz only producing 8 at a time? I had it bad. Luckily for me, I don't have to wait since the 2nd season just started, but let me explain why this show is awesome and you shouldn't judge it before you watch it.

Summary: It's the opposite of Breaking Bad. While Walter White was trying to get into the business, James St. Patrick is trying to get out of it and go legit with a club he started, but his wife and best friend are making that very difficult to achieve. Meanwhile, he runs into his high school sweetheart, who's a lawyer, and starts thinking maybe he really can start a new life with her by his side. Too bad the lawyer works with the FEDs on taking down drug dealers and neither of them know just how close their work are to each other.

Outlander vs. Game Of Thrones (On Rape & Nudity)

Hey People,

I always wait to release finale not because I'm lazy (although that's a good portion of it), but because I like to see others' reactions and who knows, you might find more information out like The Good Wife. However, Outlander started a huge debate. Maybe I shouldn't say debate, but discussion. So instead of writing about what happened in the finale, which I could sum up in 4 short sentences (Jamie was raped. Claire helped him move passed it. Claire announces she pregnant. Jame and Claire are moving to France and plan to stop the future from happening.), I rather talk about rape. Yes, I know I already talked about it before with Game of Thrones, but this time it's different. This time it was on Outlander and it started the discussion of are we seeing too much rape on TV.

I'm not going to talk about Outlander or Game of Thrones just yet. Instead, I want to talk about a show that I just watched the first time ever this past season. This show has been on for several seasons and the only reason I watched it was because it was a crossover episode. That's right I'm talking about Law & Order: Special Victim Unit. I never knew what it was about, I just knew that it was a procedural and I'm more of a serial girl and so I stayed away. Chicago Fire has been having a lot of crossovers so I watched SVU's and that's how I found out what's so special about this unit. They deal with sex crimes. During the episode I cried because the shit was sad and I really can't comprehend how this show has last so long because I don't know how people can deal with these sexual cases all the time. Are people becoming numb to sexual crimes?

It's one thing to say a character has been raped, but it's entirely another to show the actual rape. I read a comment about Outlander's finale on how there was no need to show the rape because you can understand and feel the scene without seeing it. This was my response to the person:

I disagree. While I agree with you that people are becoming numb, I don't think Outlander applies in this case. There's a reason why they say a picture is worth a thousand words. While you can understand when a character says they were raped that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to feel it. Outlander made you feel it. They forced it upon you while watching and as hard as it was to watch, you had no choice but to feel.

While I watched, I was hoping they wouldn't show it, but of course they did and now that I think about it, I don't think I would feel as strongly as I do now if it was just said. However, I will probably never watch that episode again because it was just too much for me.

This person mentioned that they haven't watched the episode and claims they will probably never watch it, but I suggest that person and anyone who hasn't seen it should see it because maybe that's why we're overlooking or in this case what the original poster suggests becoming numb to rape in television shows. I think Outlander and Game of Thrones did it correctly. I think rape should be shown for the horrific act it is instead of it being said because the act is far worse than the claim of the act. Now in SVU's defense, they deal from the police perspective and therefore there's no need to be shown because the detectives only deal with the victims after the assault takes place and of course, SVU isn't on cable, so SVU can't show as much as Outlander or Game of Thrones even if they wanted to.

So back to the original question, are we seeing too much rape on TV? Yes, we are and I'm not just referring to GoT. Rape plots are being used too easily and it shouldn't be. The reason why GoT is feeling the pressure is because I don't know any other show that has used rape more. I'm not part of the group that is against Sansa's new story. I never read the books, so this is the only story that I know. However, reading comments and talking with friends is how I came to understand this wasn't how it happened in the books. I understand why some would hate what happened to Sansa and why even some of them quit. Sansa was already mentally abused by Joffery and just when you thought she would be safe, the writers thought they should combine characters and let Sansa be raped as well. And on top of that, this isn't the first time a character has been raped on the show. So how many more rapes do I have to sit through? By my count, this is the 3rd of the 5 seasons (and I'm only including the main characters, there are way more if I include the others). But that's not even what bothers me the most. It's the fact that, so far, none of these rapes had any lasting effects. You don't just get over being raped, but the writers on GoT write like you do. We still don't know what will happen to Sansa so maybe I'll be proven wrong, and therefore, I take back my words, but until that time, Game of Thrones will still feel the pressure. While I applaud GoT for showing the rape acts, I take back my applaud for not following through with the lasting effects of rapes.

Now Outlander spent its entire last episode dedicated to its rape scene. It was a lot and some even claim they won't return because of it, which is fine by me because as long as I can keep watching I say sayonara. However, there were some comments that had issues with how fast Jamie got over his rape. I have been informed by book readers that this will still affect him, so he won't just get over it like they do on GoT. I also noticed some people having a timeline issue asking how can Claire be pregnant. Time is different in the show than in the books (and so is the setting apparently) so the looking and saving of Jamie must have been shorter in the show for her to be pregnant. There really is no other explanation.

Lastly, I want to talk about the nudity of these 2 shows. One these shows does it correctly, while the other not so much. Can you guess which one? Alright, I'll tell you or how about I let the executive producer tell you provided by TVLine:

Outlander has gotten a lot of press for being one of the few series willing to show full frontal male nudity. What was behind the choice to do it in this episode?
That was mostly just decisions you make [during editing]. I remember not really caring one way or the other what I saw… It was OK in certain moments, and then if I saw their penis in this other shot, it might distract me. It might be like, “Oh, look, they’re showing it!” [Laughs] And that’s just not the right idea.

I think we only left one cut in there that’s full frontal of just Tobias [Menzies]. It’s the one where he gets up and walks away. It’s not really about anything else happening in that moment. It’s a quiet moment. He’s literally just getting out of bed, and he’s walking across the room. It wasn’t taking you out of the scene, if that makes sense. There were other points where you just decide, “No, if I use that angle, I’m not even listening any more.” You’re just kind of going, “Wow, look.” That was the wrong note to sound in those scenes.

That's how every show should approach nudity. Don't do it to get a reaction from people, do it for the art. Sometimes GoT does it well like when Dany is alive with dragons after being engulfed in flames. She's naked because her clothes are burned, but it speaks volumes when Emilia Clarke decided not to do nude scenes anymore. Did it take away from the show? Not at all, I didn't even notice until I read a comment about it. But then you have scenes like last week where one of the Sand Snakes starts exposing herself (the whole scene was pointless to be honest since she gave Bronn the antidote anyway), you start thinking maybe GoT is doing this just to make their nudity quota. Like really, what was the point of their discussion of if she was pretty? Smh Game of Thrones.

So what have we learned? In the case of Outlander v Game of Thrones, Outlander does it better. Game of Thrones needs to revamp their show or it'll just alienate its fan base even more like The Mary Sue.

P.S. My feelings on the Outlander finale:

It took me awhile to gather my thoughts after I watched. Hell, I was still crying afterwards. Like I said before, I was stunned. But before I dived into this episode let me say this was Sam Heughan's episode. He has my vote for best actor in any award he wants. All he has to do is turn this episode in and he should win. Tobias Menzies is still incredible. He really made me hate his character. Like I really hated Black Jack and there has been a debate online on whether Black Jack is the most diabolical character on TV. He makes me say Ramsey who? I started a poll 2 weeks ago about which scene was worse the jail scene in Outlander or the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones. Over 80% of you said the Red Wedding, but I wonder if I held off until this episode aired if people would have changed their mind. It was gruesome. I saw a man break to the point that he wished death. Not going to lie to you folks, I was a bit depressed after watching, but I still can't wait for next season.

Hey People,

WARNING: I just watched the finale and I'm just stunned. I can't move right now because I'm just filled with emotions. I got the feels bad! But in all seriousness this was an intense episode, it was so intense they had to warn you how intense it would be before viewing it. I suggest you have tissues in hand for when those drops from your eyes come because I didn't have any ready and I was just swiping my face like a windshield wiper.  To be honest, I cried the whole way through and I haven't done that since the shooting of the hospital in Grey's Anatomy. It's been that long! Yes, I cry in shows sometimes, but rarely do I cry throughout the episode. You really need to be mentally prepared for this episode. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

The review for the finale will come out after it airs. This is a Previously On... so let's talk about what happened previously on Outlander. I usually like re-watching this show, but this time not so much. Although compared to the finale, this seemed easier to digest this time around. I'll save you from the gritty details.

Jamie is in prison waiting to be hanged when Black Jack shows to hold of his hanging. Meanwhile Claire and gang are cooking up a plan to save Jamie. Jack offers Jamie a deal. He can't save him; however, he's willing to give him an honorable death if he submits his body willingly to him. At first Jamie basically tells him to fuck himself off, but when Claire tries to save Jamie and Jack catches her, he makes a deal with Jack that he will submit if he let's Claire go. That's the gist.

Did I forget to mention Jack was torturing him the whole time? His hand was hammered upon and nailed to a table. It was so hard to watch and it still fails to compare to what I saw in the finale.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

WARNING: Tonight's episode is not for those with easily upset stomachs and/or those who think good will always conquer over evil.

S1 E14

I feel like I need a shower after watching tonight's episode. One word can describe the it: sadistic. Like seriously, it makes you wonder if in life are we meant to lose. If I were to re-watch the 1st season, I would skip this episode not because it was bad, but because it was just too gruesome. But enough of that, let's recap what happened last week.

I was surprised to find out so many people didn't like the episode because they thought the show should have just skipped the dancing and singing bit. It didn't bother me as much, but I can see how people see it as a waste. The milking scene with Jenny was also well talked about. I was shocked and surprised with that one, but I also thought it was hilarious and would be something I would do. Jenny grows on me with each episode. Eventually, she had to leave to go feed her baby, but she left Claire in good hands with Murtagh. He's the one that came up with the gig.

And so they did their routine going all over the place hoping that Jamie would hear about the Sassenach. Some gypsy saw how profitable the routine was and so he stole it. When Claire and Murtagh confronted him about it, Claire gave him money to quit the routine until she found her husband. Of course, they didn't listen, but they did tell Claire that when they were on the road a note was passed to them that was meant for her. They knew where to find Jamie, but it wasn't Jamie waiting their for him. Instead, they found Dougal.

The good news is he did hear about them, the bad news is it led him to being caught. Dougal offers Claire a proposal. She should marry him for protection against the sadistic Black Jack. Claire sees right through him and knows he just wants the Fraser land. She decides to marry him if she can't save her husband. Dougal lets his men join her if they choose to, and so,Willie, Rupert, and Anghus join.

But seriously make sure you prepare yourself before watching tonight. I'm not joking.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

S1 E13

So the people that had their guns pointed at Jamie weren't that bad. It just goes to show you that just because someone points their gun at you doesn't mean they're bad people. That's definitely not something to live by though. Turns out these "soldiers" knew Horrocks and we all should remember him. He tells the men about his plan to rob the Redcoats, but in the meantime, he tries to get extra coin from Jamie to go to the Americas. Jamie had to pay Horrocks so he would keep his secret about the price on his head, but then Horrocks just wanted more money, so Jamie had to kill him, except Jenny's husband, Ian, got to him first. The leader of the men became suspicious when he found Horrocks horse still there, but Horrocks was nowhere to be found. Jamie told the truth and it turns out the leader didn't give 2 shits about Horrocks anyway.

Claire was taking care of Jenny the whole time, who had a breech baby. The baby was fine in the end and Jenny got to welcome a daughter into the world. Claire came clean to Jamie that she's tried in the past to have a child and thinks she's unable to have children. Jamie accepts Claire as she is stating that he wouldn't be able to handle her in pain anyway. If you haven't noticed yet, Jamie is awesome.

Before the child was born, Jamie and Ian went on a trip with the men to do the heist Horrocks was planning. It was a trap. Horrocks made a deal with the Redcoats. Ian made it back to Lallybroch, but Jamie and the leader were captured. Claire plans to get her man back.

I can tell you that the tonight's episode is definitely worth watching sooner rather than later. If you liked last week's episode than you'll love this one more unless you're only watching for Jamie, for I can tell you right now you won't see him at all tonight. Instead, Claire will go on a journey with someone, who we'll get to see another side of. This is a great setup episode and I can't wait to see the outcome next week.

P.S. I love how before Jamie was going to leave Claire, Claire kissed him and they didn't say "I love you" to one another, but instead nodded to each other. It was subtle and I loved it because you knew what it meant. Just a thought.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

S1 E12

So not much really happened last week, which is probably why most of you hated it. It definitely was the worst episode to date, but at least we knew it wouldn't stay boring after seeing how last week ended.

I wish we could hear more of Claire describing to Jamie what the future was like. It was fun hearing her describe planes to him. I want more. We meet Jenny, Jamie's sister, and her husband. I wasn't too fond of the girl, but after watching tonight's episode, she definitely grew on me. She's just headstrong. Jenny describes what happens to her after Jamie was knocked out the first time he meets Black Jack. When in a rape, laugh at the guy's dick. It worked for her. I've never seen a show do this before. It was interesting/weird to watch because it was a rape scene and all I kept saying was "Girl, why are you laughing? He is trying to rape you!" In the end, she didn't get raped, so I guess it worked. I was shocked when we found out Jamie also could have been raped by Black Jack to pardon his illegalities. Did not see that coming at all. Jamie said no and this led to his 2nd brutal flogging. Jamie's father couldn't stand to see his son, literally. That's how Jamie's father died.

Claire learned when in Rome do as Romans do and Jamie learned to stop being an ass (although I didn't really think he was acting much like one). The big takeaway from this episode is Claire and Jamie saying they love each other. Jamie fell for Claire the 1st episode, but he didn't start loving her until the 2nd, when Claire wept in front of him. Aww. But the nice moment didn't last long because the next day, Jamie had a gun in his face.

Tonight's episode picks up where it left off. You learn a secret Claire has been hiding from Jamie and an old "friend" comes back to cause havoc for Jamie. This episode is definitely not boring and it'll leave you wanting to see what happens next. Don't they all? Almost forgot, the baby is coming!

S1 E11

Did I tell you or did I tell you? Last week's episode was probably the best episode so far. I wasn't to crazy about the witch trial because I hate witch trials in general.They're based on religion and it's a bunch of crap. The only few things I liked about it was Gillis and Claire talking and, of course, the end result. It was revealed that Gillis does truly love Dougal and Claire calls out Jamie's name in her sleep. Usually that would be the big takeaway from the episode, but there was just so much shit that happened in the end that we have to go over it.

Gillis is from the future and we're talking about further than where Claire is from. I bet Gillis was a hippie. She has that hipster vibe going on. I have to admit I didn't even think someone else could have been from the future until I read a comment suggesting it and I definitely didn't think it was her when she seemed like she never has left Leoch. She believes all the superstitions. I guess she has every right to considering how she got to the past. All Claire had to do was give Gillis up as a witch, but she couldn't do that to her only friend and so both were condemned to death. However, Gillis claimed she's a witch by showing the mark of the devil, which was just her smallpox vaccine. Apparently she's also carrying the devils child and made Claire do her bidding. True friendship right there. We never see Gillis die and you know what that means folks. If you don't see the body, they could still be alive. Maybe Dougal grew some balls and actually did what Jamie had and saved his lover.

Claire and Jamie escape and Jamie knows Claire has the same "devil's mark" so he asks her if she truly is a witch. It's the moment we've all been waiting for folks. Claire just spills the beans on everything. I didn't expect this to happen so fast, and simultaneously, I was expecting the show to be over at the same time, thinking they would leave me hanging and save the good stuff for the next episode, but nope, we got to see this shit play out. Claire told Jamie everything about her past and how she got there. Jamie felt bad for disciplining her when all she was trying to do is get home and so he did what most people could not--he took her to the rocks to go home. Claire had a very difficult choice to make. Jamie or Frank? Jamie stayed near by that night just to make sure Claire would be safe. Claire woke him up and told him they should go home. If that's not love I don't know what is.

A lot of people commented on Claire's decision. Most were stating that Jamie is hot, but electricity and running water win every time. I would have to agree. I'm sorry Jamie, but I can't live without my internet. I was actually surprised when I realized Jamie and Claire haven't said those 3 words to each other yet and that's about to change in tonight's episode. Don't expect the episode to be as good as last week's but it will get you excited for next week. that's for sure.

P.S. I'm so proud of Starz. I haven't seen one vagina yet and I don't mind seeing theme. I just don't think it's fair how shows show females' lower parts more often than males'. Starz can teach HBO a thing or two.

Previously On Saturday...

Hey People,

I have to make this statement: every woman should always be awoken like that every morning. That is all.

Jamie is still seeking his freedom and tries to get the help of The Duke, who has a fondness of boys. Nothing wrong with that. Claire using her future knowledge blackmails The Duke to help Jamie or she'll make it known that he takes Jacobite gold. The Duke will help out Jamie as long as he wins a duel for him, to which, he does and so The Duke will help Jamie with his predicament.

I love Geillis because she was so smart and keen on figuring out who Claire actually was, but once she said she was Dougal's lover, I lost respect for her. She can do so much better. Anyway, I'm not sure if Dougal and Geillis had his wife and husband killed or if they both just kill Geillis's husband after Dougal's wife passed. She did die from an illness so I'll go with the latter. Either way, they are both dead and Geillis and Dougal think they can be together now, but Colum makes sure that they don't. Colum sends Dougal away to separate him from Geillis and now Geillis (without a husband) is vulnerable to Colum's wrath of killing her husband. Jamie must go with Dougal to make sure he stays in line and to make sure Jamie follows orders, Claire must remain behind. And so our 2 lovebirds are separated.

Laoghaire admits putting the ill wish under Claire's bed, thinking Jamie is still hers and Claire must have to get him drunk before they have sex. Claire smacks the shit out of her and it was loud too. Laoghaire decides to get vicious and even by setting up Claire to be there when Geillis gets arrested for witchcraft and so I guess by association Claire is arrested as well. Laoghaire is a bitch. But damn it, why can't Claire listen to Jamie? He said stay away Claire!
