Outlander Season 2 Review

Hey People,

Long time no hear from. Shows have been ending and I haven't gotten around to watching them yet. Some I have and just haven't finished the last episode. What can I say? I'm trying really hard not to have them end on me. However, Outlander is the exception. If that's a good thing or a bad thing, you'll find out in this review.

I told you from the beginning that most people probably won't like this season because of it being so political and I turned out to be one of those people. I hated France, which is surprising to me because out of Europe France is my favorite. The only thing I liked about Claire and Jamie being in France is the fact that they spoke french. That's about it. But once they went back to Scotland, the show definitely improved; however, because of the war happening and the bonny prince being a total idiot, things kept getting worse for our 2 heroes. Never mind, I take that back. There were 2 things that were good about France--people speaking French and Fergus. Loved that kid. Wouldn't it be interesting if Fergus all grown up and Bree were to meet. Just putting it out there.

Penny Dreadful Season (Series) Finale?

Hey People,

I'm trying to understand what just happened right now. As you know, I haven't been blogging as much as I used to, but I haven't stopped watching shows either. Actually, I basically dedicate each weekend to binge watching a show. Luckily for me, I was in the mood to watch Penny Dreadful this weekend and it just so happened to be the season finale. Or was that the series finale? Let's just get into it.

I'm confused. I cried. This show has a way of doing that to me sometimes, but I blame that damn music. It's so damn good. But back to the point, Vanessa died, so of course I cried. Her hero finally shows up to save her and she asked to be killed instead--to end her misery. And so he did even though he loved her and was willing to fight for her. How could you not cry? Now as a storyteller I could totally see why the writers would go down this road. It makes sense. The only way for the Devil and Dracula to stop coming after her and the people she loves is for her to stop existing. But here's my thing. I'm not mad or angry like I usually am. Instead, I'm disappointed. We have seen Vanessa have sex with the devil (that scene alone trumped Grey's Anatomy sex with a ghost by a mile) and this season we saw Vanessa having sex with Dracula, so why the hell were we denied sex with the hero, Ethan? 3 seasons! 3 seasons and nothing.

Chicago Fire Season 4 Finale Review

Hey People,

OMG I want that kid! He has to be the cutest kid on TV. Louie! Okay now that that's out of the way, let's get to the nitty griddy. I like lists so that's what I'm going to do.

Casey - I don't think Casey should run for Senate unless the Chicago franchise is willing to add in politics. They're already doing Law so it's not a far-fetched idea. Chicago Politics? It doesn't have a nice ring to it though. Maybe Casey can run for Mayor that way he would hit all 3 shows (mostly P.D. and Law). Just an idea people. But is it wrong of me to wish that Casey did sleep with his publicist or whoever she is to him. I like the drama and we all know I'm not so crazy about Dawson and Casey in the first place

Severide - I should add Kidd to this as well because damn someone is about to get cut. Kidd's ex husband is listening to them have sex. If that's not messed up I don't know what is. But in the ex's defense, he could have been contemplating how to get out of the situation. I know I would be.

Jane The Virgin Season 2 Finale Review

Hey People,

Is Micahel really dead? It's a telenovela. No one is ever dead in this show, hence why Rose is still alive. I wasn't shocked at the reveal. I mean, once I saw her taking off the mask I knew it would be Rose, but this is about Michael. The only reason I might think he's actually dead has nothing to do with the fact that he was shot directly in the heart (bulletproof vest people, it was required during the wedding), but what the narrator said in the first season. Michael loved Jane until his last breath or something to that caliber. Either way he implied Michael will die. I don't know why else you would say it like that in such a sad way on top of it. However, if the writers wanted to kill off a main character in the finale, I think they would have the balls to do the burial in the same episode and even if they did who knows, Michael might have a twin brother.

Limitless Season 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

What a great season from start to finish. I don't usually do this but I'm giving out an award. Limitless wins for most consistent show of the year. There wasn't one episode that I didn't enjoy. Okay maybe the first episode, but in my defense, it was mediocre. I'm so glad it grew into its own. I can't see anyone playing Brian Finch other than Jake McDorman.

I have gotten a lot of predictions wrong on this show. I thought Brian's father would die in the finale. I thought Rebecca would grow feelings for Brian. I thought Boyle would take the pill. I thought Brian wouldn't tell Rebecca everything. I thought Brian wouldn't tell his father everything. I have just been wrong on so many levels with this show, but that's why I like it. I can never guess correctly. It's even better when I can't even guess at all. I'm still hoping Brian's father dies. I need something dramatic and also, I just don't like the guy.

Supergirl Season 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

Since I've recapped all the episodes except the last two, I've decided that there's no reason not to have spoilers in this review. So let me spoil away because there's tons of things we need to discuss, mostly relationships and some future predictions.

I'm surprised that they didn't make this a 2 hour finale because it worked really well when I binged through the last 2 episodes. So let me start off with the good. This show was better than I thought it was going to be. I was thinking of Smallville, but it actually passed my Smallville expectations. It's homey, but also refreshing as in it's nice to see a girl kick some ass. Melissa Benoist was a great pick for Supergirl. Got the dorkiness down and knows when to muscle up and kick some ass. Mehcad Brooks not so much of a great pick, but we'll talk about that later.

Shades Of Blue Season 1 Review (No Spoilers)

Hey People,

I am not going to lie to you. I am not a fan of Jennifer Lopez and I'm most definitely not a fan of Ryan Seacrest, who is the executive producer of the show (He gave me the Kardashians and I will forever hate him for it). But there is something so good about this show that I just had to keep coming back for more. Let me explain.

Summary: J.Lo is a part of a crew of bad cops and she gets caught. The only way for her to stay out of jail is for her to turn on her crew.

At first I thought, I thought this was the dumbest premise ever or more specifically the most cliched. And even though it's definitely cliched, I still found myself watching the next episode to see what happens. There's definitely a few twists throughout the season--one that comes early and you have to rewind just to make sure you saw what you saw--but the biggest eye opener about the show is how dark it is compared to other network television. It's pretty dark people, like even the good guys aren't that good. Hell, by the end of the season I was rooting for J.Lo's character to screw everyone over.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale Review

Hey People,

Yes, I am totally one of those people that was upset with the finale and I'm going to tell you exactly why. How the hell do you not show who was whacked to death? Now I won't be able to grieve or mourn for the lost character. Hell, I won't be even able to imagine what the group would be like if that person was gone. The writers took that away from me. No impact was left after this season finale other than a bad taste in my mouth.

I still think it should Glen and apparently Glen is the one that dies in the comic books so I'm hoping they stick to the script and kill him off here too. Wouldn't it be funny that the luckiest guy in the group is the one that is so lucky that he gets pick. People have been analyzing that scene from the angle it was being shot from and most believe it was Glen. With that I will say goodbye Glen. I don't know why the writers shot it this way, but we know it's you so stop trying to delay the inevitable.

The Fosters Season 3 Finale Review

Hey People,

Now I know I didn't recap the penultimate episode, but I didn't feel like I needed to because not much happened. However, the stuff that did happen were of epic proportions so much so that I will take the time now to discuss them. 1) Jack, Jude's friend, died at the hands of Callie's and Jude's old son of bitch foster parent. I knew it was him once Stef stomped on his glasses. 2) Brandon and Callie are still in love with each other, but we all already knew that. 3) Mat is still in love with Mariana and Mariana's boyfriend knows since he stole away a note Mat left for Mariana to read. But Mariana confesses her love for Mat anyway so they just have to dump their partners. BTW, Mat's girlfriend is a total bitch. Girl went out of her way to make it seem like Mat didn't want her back. If you have to play these games then you might as well just let him go bitch. 4) Mike and Ana holding hands. Something happened that we didn't get a flashback on. 5) Where the hell was Jesus and AJ?

Now that that's out of the way, I do have to say that the penultimate episode has to be my favorite The Fosters episode ever. I loved that the episode revolved around this one play and the songs were catchy. I found myself singing along to them and I am no fan of Romeo & Juliet. The flashbacks worked really well too as they zoned in on the character to see what they were contemplating about. Really well done. Wouldn't mind seeing a play like this at all.

Empire Midseason 2 Finale Review

Hey People,

Okay I know this should have been written last year when they showed the finale, but I was being lazy and I can't help that now but to review this the day of the spring premiere, which meant I had to rewatch again. Let's get into it. I totally thought this premiered yesterday, but it turns out it won't premiere until next week. I guess I am early. That's one way to get me to write a post.

Damn, I'm not going to lie to you folks, I did not see that one coming. Lucious lost the company and when I mean lost I don't mean he won't be there anymore, he'll still be there he just won't be in charge in making decisions anymore. They still hold majority share so it's not like Mimi and Camilla can go around Lyons. Speaking of Mimi and Camilla, what the fuck? Is anyone as curious as me as how they got together? I was picturing Camilla just manipulating Mimi because she was sick and needed someone to be there for her. Either way, I couldn't have predicted that one. It was too much of a leap, but a leap I liked risking because I like when occurring characters come back. I was wondering what that bitch was doing this whole time.

Limitless Midseason 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

Better late than never, but I will say that I did watch this awhile ago and just never got around to writing this review. Damn these holidays. Anyway, Limitless had probably one of the best midseason finales this fall. It kept me engaged the whole time through.

First of all, I love how they organized the episode by showing us the point of views of each character. Do I think we should do that all the time? No, but it was a great way to get to know the backgrounds of the characters a little more. I mean, we got to learn Ike's real name--Jason--but isn't it just as funny that they bleeped out their names towards the beginning of the episode?

The Man In The High Castle Review *Spoiler Free*

Hey People,

Yes, I am alive and Merry Christmas to you too! Now that we got that out of the way, let's get down to business. I just finished getting through this and although I didn't binge through it like crazy, I will say that I didn't even realize that I was on the last episode until...well...the last episode. This show was a sandwich. Let me explain.

Summary: What if America didn't win World War II? That's this show in a nutshell.

America is split into 3 parts. The Nazis own one portion, the Japanese own the other, and there is a neutral zone in the middle. Hitler (ugh!) is alive and well, but he's old and someone has to take his place when he dies. Who will it be? Of course once the uniter does die (it feels really wrong to call Hitler a uniter, vomit, vomit everywhere), does the successor keep the peace with Japan? The Japanese don't think so, which is why they're plotting behind the Nazis' back. But even they know if they go to war with the Nazis that they will lose and so the fake smiles are endless on this show.

Chicago Med Midseason 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

I've decided to keep this one around, even though I'm still on the edge about it. We still don't know much about these characters, which is weird because P.D. and Fire are both more into the characters personal lives than their work lives. They still need to work that out in the show, but I've decided to continue because of the last episode. the movie theater shooting.

At first I rolled my eyes at the thought that now I had to sit through a TV show portraying it, but I liked the twist they gave it. It just goes to show you not to be so quick with a gun. But I didn't blame the actual shooter because he thought he saw someone with a gun and it was a really horrible prank. So I agree with the 17 year old boy facing the law for faking a gun shooting in a movie theater and the shooter getting nothing. The shooter couldn't handle the guilt/embarrassment of it all and committed suicide by walking onto incoming traffic. As for the prankster, he has to live with the fact that his donated liver was given by a woman who was trampled to death because of his prank. Death would be too nice for this boy.

Chicago Fire Midseason 4 Finale Review

Hey People,

Firefighter down! Firefighter down! This is why you shouldn't make fun of people because the next thing you know, someone wants to stab you for it. Looks like Freddie is going to end up in jail for stabbing Herrmann. Do I think Herrmann is going to die? No, but then again this show doesn't shy away from killing people on the crew. For a second there, I thought Patterson was dead after the truck blew up. I wouldn't have been upset if he died, but I like how he changed his tune about the crew and didn't take the glory for the save of the day.

Jane The Virgin Midseason 2 Finale Reveiw

Hey People,

Jane was pissed! She does not like being lied to and neither do I. The viewers were lied to as well. We find out exactly when Jane did, but coming from the 3rd perspective, at least I understood why Rafael did it. Jane couldn't see until she went to therapy and remembered that Michael helped Sin Rostro who killed his father. What really bothers me is why Jane is okay with Michael lying to her about helping Nadine and got over it, but it wasn't okay when Rafael did it? Obviously, this girl is bias and I can't believe that we're back to the love triangle again. What happened to the time off with it? It didn't last very long. By the end of the episode, we see Jane still pinning for Michael. I'm not saying she has to be head over heels for Rafael, but I thought the episode before (what I consider the best episode of the whole series) showed that she was finally over him and now it diminishes the effect of that episode. Ugh, back to square 1 again. The good thing is at least we don't have Michael pinning after her. At least Jane figured out why she hated being lied to by Rafael and it all circles back to her mother lying to her about her father. When it all comes down to it, it's always daddy issues. No need to see a therapist for that one.

Supergirl Midseason 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

Just when it was getting good, they stop in the middle of a fight. I have to say this show is going beyond my expectations. This is what you would call a good 90's show and I say 90s because there are actual lessons to learn each episode. Not many shows have that anymore unless you count kiddie shows, which I don't watch anymore. Anyway, let's get into it.

Kara had to deal with her aunt. The good thing is Supergirl caught her, the bad is her aunt planned to get caught. For what, we don't know yet, but we know it's not good. To me, it looks like Astra is Kara's biological mother, which would be a nice twist to things. I mean, Supergirl is already upset that her mother used her to get Astra locked up, but to also lie that she's not really her mom on top of it all would just send Kara over the edge. I also have a feeling that Astra isn't as bad as Alura made her out to be because we still don't know why she was jailed in the first place. All we know is Astra's husband, Non (his name means no in french), killed a man in the process. Very interesting that's all I will say.

Blindspot Midseason 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

Finally, I get time to write this one out. I'm late on congratulating Blindspot for not waiting forever and a day to get their leads to share a kiss. They are already a thousand miles ahead of Bones and Castle in that department.

We had a typical Russian spies as the bad guys for the tattoo of the week, but I guess David, Patterson's dead boyfriend, is what made this episode so special. He got killed and Patterson was driven to find his killer, which led them to the Russians, which led to some Russian spies dying. Patterson made Jane realize that when you have something special you shouldn't waste time not being with that person because before you know it he's gone. This made Jane go to Weller's apartment and kiss him.

Quantico Midseason 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

Elias is dead. It wasn't that hard to figure out he was behind it in this episode. I was thinking either they're making it really obvious on purpose or the actor who's playing Elias is really bad at acting. The people truly behind the bombings blackmailed Elias into doing their bidding and Elias went along with it because he didn't want to end up in jail. In the end, he took his own life to avoid jail time. Wow, man really didn't want to get butt raped in jail, I guess.

But even after Elias killed himself by falling out a window, Alex and people still had to deal with Simon being attached to a bomb. I don't know about you, but I just found it really wrong for them to release the trigger when the bomb they found was disarmed. Because every once in awhile the bomb you find may not be attached to the trigger you find just like in this case. It just didn't seem right to me to tell Simon to release the trigger without someone checking it out first. Anyway, another bomb went off and this one was underneath the place where the FBI set up shop after the Grand Central bombing. I would totally blame Alex for that one just because she told Simon to release his hand.

The Last Kingdom Season 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

I knew once Iseult said she wanted to have sex with Uhtred that she was a goner. She probably saw her own death and said why the hell not. I'm going to die anyway. I was a little sadden by Leofric's death. His death on the battlefield is better than him dying at the hands of Uhtred, but still I'm going to miss him calling our hero an ass all the time. The one person I would have loved to see die is the queen of Wessex, but she wasn't even on the battlefield. The way Beocca threw the spear, he should have thrown it all the way back to the swamps and hit the queen with it.

Anyway, a big battle did end up happening, once Alfred's men showed up. Fashionably late does not count in this case, but at least they showed up unlike that traitor who switched sides at the last minute. Good thing he was the first to die.

I forgot that Odda the Younger died by the hands of Odda the Elder and rightfully so. I've hated him since he took all the glory for killing Ubba. I was so glad he died and as a bonus, he didn't get a proper burial.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Midseason Finale Review

Hey People,

OMG there are so many people that I wanted to die. I'm not going to lie to you. I was so excited at the possibility that Carol could die at the hands of Morgan. I knew it wasn't going to end pretty because you had an angel and a devil (of Rick's conscious) in the same room. Now, of course, we all knew that eventually the prisoner would get out. Where would the drama be if he didn't? But I did not expect him to take a hostage and the Doc at that. I'm pretty sure they would have just let him go and chucked it up to him dying on his way out. Who knows maybe he'll run into Rick's group and be killed that way.

Speaking of Rick's group, I am so glad they brought back the guts disguise. I don't understand why they don't use it as often because they should. Actually that should just be their attire from now on. They can get used to the smell and it would cause Walkers to walk their asses right pass them if they were ever caught in danger. But about that ending, can someone shut that boy up? I swear he's going to get them all killed. For a second there, I thought Carl was going to get killed by Jessie's oldest. It would have been really morbid, but who am I to judge. I thought the baby would have been a goner too by now, but she's still kicking and screaming, but always seems to be quiet with Walkers around.
