Mr. Robot Season 1 Finale Review

Hey People,

So I was really excited about Mr. Robot's season finale, but I have to say, it didn't live up to the hype I had in my head. Actually, I would continue to say that the episodes leading up to the finale were better than the actual finale. Let me explain why.

The episode starts off with the therapist that dumped Elliot as a patient, which I'm a little upset about because I thought coming clean about what Elliot thinks and feels would be what she wanted. Yes, he broke some boundaries, but he also saved her from a scumbag who came crawling back to her so he could bring Elliot down. I wanted to smack that guy twice. One for lying & cheating and two for thinking Elliot is the bad guy in this situation. I would add another smack just for the way he treated his dog. Regardless of what Elliot did, the scumbag would have been caught anyway since he used Ashley Madison. (I have no sympathy for those that got caught on that website. I only feel bad for those who thought it was a regular dating website and had no idea what the website was intended for and now they're with someone and their significant other thinks they were cheating.) Anyway, I'm glad the therapist said she wasn't going to help him because that man has clearly missed the point and has learned nothing.

Hey People,

Let's try this again, shall we?

S1 E9
Okay I'm just going to stop making theories for this show because I was totally off base. Mr. Robot played me so hard it wasn't funny. So Elliot's father, Mr. Robot, is dead and he's been imagining him from the beginning. When it was finally revealed, I first thought any time we saw Mr. Robot it was actually Elliot like a Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde type situation, which I think would be even cooler, but it just turns out all those scenes with Mr. Robot were made up by Elliot. Now I don't trust what I see on Mr. Robot because it may or may not be real and I love that. It really gets you into Elliot's head and how he views the world. Usually for a show, we see everything from the outside and that's what makes Mr. Robot such a unique show.

Elliot and Darlene started fsociety together and Elliot doesn't remember ever doing it. It's like Elliot himself is a viewer. We know as much as he knows.

As for Angela, she's been offered a new gig, working for her enemy, Evil Corp. I know she's in dire need for money, but working for the company your suing would be considered a conflict of interest and just a bad move in general. It could really sabotage her case. But the drama in me wants her to take the job offer just so we have a person at Evil Corp since Tyrell will no longer be working there. Tyrell instead will be working with Elliot and Darlene in taking down Evil Corp. I get why Tyrell is doing it, but I don't get why Elliot brought him along. He's a killer. I would take schizo Elliot over psycho-killer Tyrell any day. This isn't going to end well.

I can't believe the season finale is tonight. Don't forget to watch!

No Mr. Robot Finale Tonight!

Hey People,

Due to the shooting in Virginia, there will be no airing of Mr. Robot tonight. Apparently there is a scene that is similar to what happened this morning and out of respect, there will be no showing of the episode. Instead, the finale will be pushed back to next week.

May the victims who died rest in peace. #guncontrol #mentalhealthcheck

Hey People,

S1 E8
I'm sorry, give me a sec. My mind was blown. Hold on.
.
.
.
WTF!!! Sometimes you get surprises that you can't wait to see the fallout and other times you get surprises that explain everything. Mr. Robot doesn't fit into these categories instead Mr. Robot had a surprise that left me more confused than ever, yet still completely blew my mind because I didn't see it coming. We're not talking about coming from left field, we're talking about coming from another galaxy. Star Wars basically describes what just happened here. So Darlene is Elliot's sister and it looks like Mr. Robot is some type of father figure. Whether he is Elliot's father or step-father or just who screwed mom is still up for debate. Hell, Mr. Robot even being a real person is still up for debate. Only in the 1st episode when we first meet Mr. Robot did I think he wasn't real, but once he led Elliot to fsociety and introduced everyone I thought he was. Some people weren't as easily convinced. I do think he is real and it's solely based on what we have seen when Elliot is not there is what actually happens. So anytime we see Elliot, it's always from his perspective, but when he's not in a scene, the perspective is omniscient. Otherwise, we wouldn't be seeing that scene at all because Elliot wouldn't know it was happening. We need some theories, stat.

Theories
  1. Mr. Robot is Elliot's biological father. He was claimed dead, but actually was the sole survivor and made a deal with the devil/ Evil Corp that he would never come forward as a witness.
  2. Mr. Robot is Elliot's step-father/guy after his bio father died and Mr. Robot and Elliot's mother had Darlene. Mr. Robot may have come across some info on Evil Corp and that's how he gets involved with them that way or maybe Mr. Robot also had a previous marriage and lost his wife because of Evil Corp and that's how he meets Elliot's mother. In other words, some way some how he meets Elliot's mother and is against Evil Corp.
  3. Some combination of 1 and 2.
I made these theories myself and there are definitely other theories out there, but there's just so much we don't know that it really could be anything. I'm leaning more towards the 2nd because anytime we see flashbacks of Elliot and his mother he's so young (not even double digits yet), while in the last episode we saw Elliot as a pre-teen, which makes me think Mr. Robot isn't his biological father.

There are tons of things to be confused about in this show, but that's also the fun of it. I mean, I'm still confused about why Mr. Robot pushed Elliot off the rails if he's known Elliot for so long. Retribution doesn't cut it anymore. However, this does explain Darlene and Angela's conversation at ballet class. I seriously thought I missed something. I thought either Angela came over when Darlene was hanging around and we didn't see that scene or maybe I had forgot they had a scene together. But now that makes sense.

The plan is back on since the Chinese are back on to stop Evil Corp now that Elliot fixed their problem. Tyrell knows all about fsociety and he's made a deal with Mr. Robot. I don't think he necessarily in on it, but I do think they share the same goal. Fsociety gets to destroy Evil Corp and Tyrell can easily become CTO if the company falls because of another CTO. Even if he makes CTO before the attack (which I doubt because of the murder investigation of the current CTO's wife), he knows about fsociety and may know how to stop them. As of right now, the best thing they can do is stay out of each other's way. BTW, what Tyrell's wife did so her water would break was all kinds of nasty.

In other news, Gideon no longer trusts Elliot, but I really don't understand why he was so mad he didn't watch the smartTV. I rather people try to fix the problem than hear the message of fsociety.

P.S. The reason Terry Colby can go free now is because Angela confessing she broke the chain in command makes the evidence against Terry Colby inadmissible. I don't see how that would change anything unless she went to a 3rd party that caused the issue, but whatever.

Previously On Wednesday...

Hey People,

I haven't had a Wednesday show since Empire went on hiatus. But it's good to be back. I binged through Mr. Robot and think it's quite an interesting story and definitely has a lot of story to tell. It reminds me of Dexter and I know I'm not the only one that has made that connection. Elliot is basically the cyber Dexter, except he doesn't kill people, but you get the feeling that they would have been friends. Anyway, it's on my list now.

S1 E7
Last week opened with Elliot meeting Shayla, which is just cruel because Shayla's dead. I'm going to miss her. I actually liked her, but I think this was needed because Elliot now knows first hand that hacking someone and setting them up has repercussions. He finally comes clean to his therapist what he truly is and I'm hoping that the therapist doesn't dump him as a client. I think this can be a great start to a beautiful relationship. Can I just add that the therapist did not seem like someone who is into anal porn. You never know a person until you see their porn collection that's what I always say.

Angela was busy making a deal with Colby. In exchange for her false testimony of her breaking chain of custody, he'll testify of the evil doings of Evil Corp that led to her mother dying. What I don't understand is how will her breaking chain of custody will undo the damage already done when the evidence against him is so incriminating. I mean, the file says it came from his computer. I don't see how Angela confessing changes anything against him.

Darlene and gang have a huge meeting with White Rose. Mr. Robot says he has a plan, but #whothefuckcares about Mr. Robot. He's the worst character of this show and I hope he dies. It's sad because he's probably the last person who will die since the show is named after him. Ollie is still being blackmailed by Darlene's ex and now he's asking for another favor.

Anyway, the big moment came when Tyrell kills the new CTO's wife. Man does not like to lose or be humiliated. He wiped his fingerprints on her neck, but forgot to wipe her nails. You can totally get DNA from under her fingernails, dude. If I was the CTO, I would have bodyguards everywhere because someone at that party killed my wife. First, Tyrell fires his men (they were douchebags though) and then he kills someone. This guy is on a roll...to the jailhouse.
