Tyrant Season 2 Finale Review

Hey People,

Okay so I don't know if Jamal is dead or alive, but I'm leaning more towards him being alive because there needs to be a villain and if they do keep him alive they can make him into a pure dictator. Before, he was a confused president, but after the shooting and I think knowing that everyone was in on him stepping down, he will go full dictator and kill anyone who gets in his way. At least that's what I'm hoping for. It's better than introducing a new character. But can I just say out of all the people who could have shot Jamal, I didn't think it was going to be Nusrat. Although after knowing she was the shooter, it does make sense. She was on the verge of a mental breakdown. I'm just wondering what they're going to do with her. I don't think Ahmed would want to be with Nusrat after she tried to kill his father. But that's okay because Rami will be there for her. Unlike Ahmed, Rami probably wouldn't care what Nusrat did since Jamal tried to kill him. I hope the actor, who plays Rami, sticks around a little longer.

Leila's sole purpose in life is to secure her son's place. I feel like the writers dropped the ball on Leila this year. I don't see how she fits the equation anymore. Jamal knows she's a traitor now so she can't be used as a spy for Barry so I just don't see how she'll be relevant in the future. I mean, she even told Barry to let Jamal die. If that's not love, I don't know what is. I was thinking about the past Leila and Barry share together. In the beginning of the series, I thought Leila and Barry would eventually get together because of their history, but I think that thought is long gone now. They were once in love, but since a new love interest has been added to Barry's life (which I'll get to), there's no need to have a 3rd and I'm pretty sure that ship sailed when Leila watched "Barry" being hanged and did nothing to stop it. So I feel like the writers backed Leila in a corner and can't write her as great as in the 1st season because all she can do is live for her son. A season makes a huge difference. Look how much I praised Leila before.

Hopefully this changes next season, but can the writers do something about Emma? Sammy had a bigger role than Emma last year and this year he had a major role and Emma was seen, what like twice? They have 2 kids, you know. If you're going to introduce them, you might as well use them. I've always liked Emma on the brief occasion we've seen her, but I'm glad to say Sammy grew on me this year. I couldn't stand him last year so that's a plus. As for Molly, even though I don't like the bitch (mostly due to me liking Daliyah more), she still has a role to play diplomatic-wise and romantic-wise.

My favorite moments of the season finale goes to Daliyah and Barry. I feel bad for these two because they haven't done anything wrong, but you know they want to. I was worried that Daliyah wouldn't make it to the 3rd season because usually protagonists don't have 2 lovers. There's always one they shouldn't be with and one they should be with. In this case, it's a bit murky. There's one he's married to and another that saved his life. You could argue it's a hero-complex, but it seems more than just that at least for Daliyah, who was never in love with her husband. I feel like I'm a little bias though. It's harder to root for the establish couple since we never got to see them establish themselves as a couple. So viewers tend to want the love we see with our own eyes. But even if you take that out of the equation, I still like Daliyah more because I just like her character better. It's as simple as that.

What will happen to Barry if we get another season? I think we already know the answer to that question. He'll be the voice of the people. We have seen how Jamal struggles with power and I think next season will focus on Barry struggling with the same power. The people are going to want him to run and Barry thinks he's not the right man for the job. I think we're going to see him struggle with his place in the world. Is it with his family and eventually going back to America or is it his home country of Abuddin, where the people will elect him as president? Will he choose Molly or Daliyah or both since he can in Abuddin (although I don't think Molly would be down for that)? All we can do is wait for season 3. If we do get a season 3. I'll let you know if we do.

Luv ya,

P.S. Season 3 is a go people!
